It was with great sadness that the membership of the Society gathered for the Annual General Meeting and remembered, at the very start of the gathering, Harold Marchant who died recently.
On behalf of the Executive Committee, Richard Baglin, Honorary Secretary, paid tribute to Harold’s devoted service to the Society and to the wider community over many years. He reminded members of Harold’s pioneering work in recruiting and leading graffiti removing teams and in improving the public realm. Working with his wife Clare, he had produced almost one hundred editions of the Newsletter transforming it from a simple bulletin into a lively magazine. He would be remembered with fondness and gratitude.
