Greenwich Low Traffic Neighbourhood Scheme

The Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) scheme for East and West Greenwich, came into force today, 27 November 2024. The relevant information about the scheme is repeated below.

At present, very surprisingly, there does not seem to be any signage to warn drivers of this complex new scheme. We believe the cameras to monitor and enforce the scheme may have been installed. We are very concerned that considerable numbers of drivers could be caught out unaware and be fined.  Please do look at the information below to check if your journeys will be affected.

It is formally a trial scheme, subject to continuing consultation, which is detailed here at royalgreenwich.gov.uk/greener-safer-greenwich. (Scroll down this page and click on West and East Greenwich neighbourhood management trial - November 2024).  We would be pleased to hear members’ views, as the scheme implementation progresses.

Maps of all areas affected are downloadable from the above page and here: East Greenwich Map ; West Greenwich Map ; West and East Greenwich Street List

This is a trial of the LTN in that it will be in place for up to 18 months after which it will either be made permanent, changed or removed.  We urge members of both the Greenwich Society and the Blackheath Society to comment on the trial at royalgreenwich.gov.uk/greener-safer-greenwich for six months starting on November 27 2024.
