Oxleas Apiary - latest

The Apiary and its bees have overwintered very well, it is going from strength to strength.  For this year we have installed an automatic weather station and some electronic wizardry and gizmos in the hives to enable us to monitor the bees comings and goings and their foraging performance.  Over the last year we have received several visitors from the Greenwich area including those participating in the Hands-On Apiary Days and two individuals who took the Introduction to Beekeeping Course.

There is a general introductory text on the Apiary on the Home page at www.oxleaswoodapiary.com, the  Introduction to Beekeeping Course gives details of the course and there are separate Apiary Days for the public to obtain some ‘hands-on’ experience of working with the bees in the apiary - there is  a downloadable  brochure  providing details of the Beekeeping course and Apiary Days - talks and visits to schools,  societies and clubs are also available - generally these are available from late-May onwards through the Summer.
